I broke down...

I was in the middle of a project for my sister's in law and suddenly--my original 12 inch cricut expression only wanted to stay on the portrait position. I tried pushing it and the light would stay on. I unplugged it and it just wouldn't go back to normal.

I started to worry...what if this was a sign of things to come?????

Something else could go wrong and if I wasn't finished with all the cutting I had to do..what then????

So I broke down and bought the new Cricut Explore Air

I had bought the Silhouette Cameo a couple of years ago and finally opened the box to play with it. While I find it cool to print and cut out things, I found out the Cricut machine does that too and it's easier to work with so far.

I know, I know, why did I buy a the explore since I had a Cameo. Well...because all the cricut cartridges I have wouldn't be used then and I couldn't bear that. ;)

The explore was simple to install and use. They even gave me card stock to make a card. It also came with Iron on material to try and I am looking forward to that.
It came with a silver pen to use. I was shocked how vibrant it was on such dark card stock. Cute huh?

The Cameo came with a month's use in their store and a $25 gift card to use. The explore gives you 2 weeks to play around with images. I am still trying to figure out things on both machines.

I am becoming a subbie to those who explain how to use these machines in plain english on you tube.

I was able to add vinyl to an already purchased design which made me happy with my choice to buy the explore. I'll post pics later when it's finally completed.

Do you have a explore or a silhouette and want to share your story with me? Drop me a line. I would love to hear which videos helped you.

Thanks for stopping by!

To write or not to write....

Ah Blogging,

It's funny how letting the whole world know how you feel about a certain subject has caught on. With all the social media there is, it can be overwhelming and scary.

I started this blog with the intention of sharing my love of crafting and little snippets of my life. But since my life has changed dramatically over the past three years, it's hard to just talk about Crafting only.

My crafting now only takes place when I am on break from school. I love creating and would love to start a business but that takes time and I am torn on making this passion a business and possible turn it into something I hate or resent.

Crafting has always been a release of sorts...to create something that brings joy to someone else is an incredible feeling. I have been blessed to be able to stay at home and craft and take on projects for friends and family. I enjoy the process of creating and love when something I made comes together even better than I expected (rare but has happened ;) ).

I thought about changing the title of this blog many many times. I am still wrestling with this. I may one day. How to sound with and clever is much harder than I thought.

My cousin Gina has turned me onto watching shows while scrappin or crafting and I love it. I just got done watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix. It's such an amazing show and hope it has a long life ahead. Jane Fonda reminds me of my mom and that pulls at my heart strings. My mom almost had the same hair style. If my mom were alive, it definitely would be a show we would watch together. I miss her terribly.

So... with this blabbering in mind, this blog will be a cleansing of the clutters of my mind and crafting fun I want to share.

Please feel free to share and interact if you wish or don't... up to you.

Smooches and peace!

Happy Monday!

Good Morning Fellow Scrappy people!

I have recently finished my yearly calendar. Yes, it's February and thank goodness it allowed me more time. I was sick at the beginning of the year so I am a little behind. Who am I kidding...I'm seriously behind but with school and kids and house...its bound to happen right?

Anywho...I have the first layout of the calendar

I will pop in from time to time to share my layouts. Hoping to get more crafting done. So inspired by New crafting blogs and you tubers.

Have a wonderfully scrappy day!
